Taking Down Myths About Caffeine

As any regular coffee drinker is probably aware, there are a lot of ideas out there that claim that caffeine has a whole lot of negative effects on the body – ranging from causing irregular heart rates to causing weight gain to causing dehydration – but while all of these ideas are rooted in some sort of fact, all of them are also (mostly) false!

Starting out with the idea of caffeine making people jittery and causing them to have an irregular heart rate, one thing that will be important for you to understand is that caffeine affects different people in different ways – and there are a number of factors that can dictate how caffeine affects an individual, such as age, gender, weight, or regular caffeine intake – but if you have been drinking caffeine for years and have not had problems with nervousness or “jitters” as a result, you are probably perfectly fine to continue consuming the amount of coffee you typically consume.

Another thing that can be true, but is not necessarily true at its core, is the idea of coffee causing weight gain; one of the functions of caffeine is that it turns glucose into fat, which means that coffee will, in fact, cause you to gain weight if you are putting sugar in it, or if you are drinking down some sweets with it, but on its own, coffee is pretty much a dieter’s dream, as it has nothing bad in it at all!

Now, as with just about anything you can consume, you must realize that coffee should be consumed in moderation; if you have anywhere from 2-4 cups of coffee per day, you should be safe from the jitters and from the dehydration that coffee can cause (and in fact, drinking 2-4 cups of coffee is just as good as drinking 2-4 cups of water, for hydration purposes!). But if you start to edge up into the range of 5-7 cups of coffee per day, you can experience some adverse effects – including dehydration – so make sure you know your facts when it comes to coffee, and you will feel quite fine consuming it!

Adding A Triggerfish To Your Saltwater Tank

If you have ever gone snorkeling or scuba diving in a tropical location, chances are pretty good that you have ended up finding a triggerfish that decided to swim alongside you for a while. Due to the beauty, interesting personalities, and curiosity of the triggerfish, they have become some of the more popular fish for saltwater enthusiasts. But as is the case with any saltwater fish, you need to make sure it is okay for you to add this fish to your own tank before you go out and buy one.

image

Before you learn anything else about the triggerfish, you need to know that they grow rather large and need a tank that is at least 100 gallons! If you do not have such a large tank – or if you do not plan to upgrade to such a tank – a triggerfish is not the right fish for you!

@@CBTEXT;AQUABOOKS;Make sure you check out Saltwater Reef Aquariums 101@@!

The triggerfish is also a very aggressive and territorial fish, which is important to remember even if you have a 100 gallon tank. When the triggerfish looks at invertebrates, coral, fish that are smaller than it, and even fish the same size as it, it will see “dinner.” Even if you have a tank with fish who are large enough to handle themselves around the triggerfish – and even if the tank itself is large enough – you should still make sure the triggerfish is the last fish you add to the tank. This will help their territorial nature to be somewhat marginalized, as you will not be adding new fish to a tank in which the triggerfish has already marked most of it as their own.

Finally, you need to make sure you provide a triggerfish with an enclosure where it can go in at night, use its trigger mechanism to lock itself in place, and sleep. In the wild, this is how it keeps itself safe from predators, and in your tank, this will be how it makes itself feel comfortable.

The triggerfish is not a fish that beginners should try to keep in their tank; even though they are hardy, they require expertise! But if you have a tank in which a triggerfish will work, you will surely enjoy the purchase you make!

Commercial Bug Spray Versus Natural.

When you consider which bug spray to use on your child you may be a bit confused. There is a lot of press now days about how unsafe chemicals are because they can be absorbed into your skin, so many people turn around and find a natural product thinking that this is much safer for you. This can be true, but you should know what you are dealing with first.

Commercial bug sprays use chemicals which are very effective at repelling bugs. This is a very good thing because of the risk of blood born diseases that can be carried by these biting pests. Having said that there is both a safe and unsafe way to use chemicals. Deet is a health hazard, but very effective at repelling insects. Bug sprays that contain a @@AMAZONTEXT;B000LGN3Z2;high level of DEET@@ are safest when they are used on clothing only. It is a great way to use it, but also keeps it off your skin at the same time.

A lot of people believe that essential oils are safe and good way to repell bugs since it is natural. That is a big mistake. It is highly encouraged that you first read up on @@AMAZONTEXT;0443052603;essential oil safety first@@ before using a spray with essential oils.

They can be just as dangerous as commercial chmicals when not used correctly. Again using this on your clothing may be the best route to avoid all problems that may come from contacting the skin.

Over all one of the best ways to deal with biting bugs is to cover up in general and avoid times of the day when biting bugs are apt to be out more. Clearly there are times when this just doesn’t matter and it is during these times when bug sprays should be considered.

Tips For Keeping Your Backyard Beautiful

The last thing you want to do when you have wrapped up a long day at work and have come home at last is sit on your deck or patio and look at a yard that looks ugly. But at the same time, yard maintenance can be tough because you do not usually feel like working on your yard after a long, hard day at work! You need to know these simple, time-saving tips if you want to have a beautiful yard to come home to without having to spend tons of time on it.

image

If you do not water your lawn properly, it will be a lot less beautiful; this is natural, after all, as water is one of the most important parts of having a beautiful yard. Proper watering is actually a bit different from what you might have expected; for starters, you should not water every day! Even though you will give your grass a lush, green color by watering it every day, it will be bad for the roots of your grass in the long run. You should instead make sure your grass gets about one inch of water each week, by watering it one to two days each week.

It is also important that you water in the morning; this might not be convenient for you, of course, but it is best for the grass. Your grass will grow lush, strong, and healthy if you water it in the morning a couple days a week.

@@AMAZONWIDGET;lawn care;1000@@.

You will hardly be doing anything different by doing these two things – and in fact, if you will actually be saving time if you usually water your lawn several days each week – and this will help your grass grow beautiful and healthy. The other main thing to keep in mind, for saving time and energy and still having a lovely yard, is that you need to keep your mower in good shape. Your yard will look great, and your job will be a lot easier, when your mower is working smoothly and easily. When it is in disrepair, however, this will not be a good situation for your yard, or for you!

Using Goodreads To Help You Sell Books

One of the most important things if you have written a book will be that you are able to figure out the things you can do to help the book sell well (and this is true regardless of whether you are published by a major publishing house or a small press, or are self-published!), as a book is unlikely to sell itself without a bit of help from the author; there are a lot of different ways by which you can go about promoting your book if you are in this position, but one of the best places for promoting your book is Goodreads – which is a social network for readers – especially if you know how best to use Goodreads to your advantage!

Setting yourself up as a “book expert” on your own Goodreads page is the first thing you should do – not only rating all the books you have read in the past, but also taking the time to write reviews of as many of these books as you can; when you have reviews of lots of books, people will be more likely to start following your reviews, and as more and more people follow your reviews, more and more people will try to find out more about you – and will end up looking into your book!

@@ADSENSE@@.

As is the case with any social network you use in an attempt to promote yourself, interacting with others on Goodreads will be an important part of your success as well; when people comment on your reviews or on the books you have read, make sure you comment back – and after you have read a new book, look around for others who have read (and written reviews) of this same book, and leave comments of your own.

And of course, one of the best things of all that you can do is get others to “promote” your book for you, and Goodreads gives you a great opportunity for this, as it allows readers to recommend their favorite books to others. Encourage those who read your book to recommend it to others who they imagine might enjoy it, and watch as the word about your book begins to spread further and further!
